Sharon Helman, formerly ran the VA hospital, in Spokane WA. While she was there, the number of veterans that committed suicide were 22, while she only reported 9 cases of suicide, and 34 attempted suicides. Her numbers were a little off, I'd say.
After those numbers were found out, the VA transferred to Hines, Ill. At this time, I am looking to see if there are any discrepancies in the numbers there. As soon as I can find those, I'll either report on it, or add it in.
From Hine, Ill., Sharon Helman then was moved to Phoenix, AZ. Where she was finally caught by a whistle blower, altering her numbers. And basically, murdering, I'm sorry, having her secret list, of 40 vets, that died while waiting for treatment, that they would never receive. Her number of deaths are at 62 now, and could climb higher.
Since then, it has come out, that in a very short time, the VA has managed to purge 1.5 million records of vets waiting for treatment. Hence chopping their backlog of slightly over 2 million, to a mere 450,000. While those number are more managable for the VA, my question is this, did they do the same thing as Sharon Helman? Did they just simply throw away more of our vets, that have fought and bled for us, so they to can go without? Every Vet should be concerned with this, because we may end up on that same list one day.
Granted, the VA is understaffed. I have a friend that works in a VA facility in Virginia, and we've talked about this. So I do understand that. But the way you fix that, is to hire more people. I'm sure that not one red blooded American would have an issue with the proper health care of our vets. That's red blooded American. I'm sure you'd have you libs, or anti war pukes, that would complain, but I'm not counting them as American.
Our vets deserve the best care, that money can buy. They damn sure don't deserve someone like Sharon Helman, deciding who gets it, and who doesn't. Then tosses their records in the trash. If anything, she should be tossed in the trash.
As of now, the VA is playing, "cover thy ass", and denying any kind of list. But if that is so, then answer me this. Why did they put Sharon Helman on leave, along with two others? If nothing is going on there, then why put those people on leave? Could it be, this is possibily, her third offense, and they don't want that to get out? We know for sure, it is her second time.
Now we all know, every administration has a scandal or two. I'm not condoning it, but it's there. Nixon with Watergate, Kennedy with Monroe, Carter and the fiasco of the failed attempt to release our hostages, Reagan and the Iran-Contra affair, etc etc. But I think this administration has had by far, more scandals then Clinton had affairs, while in office! And a majority of them, in the name of elections! The IRS scandal, Benghazi (still), The one guy that was in Homeland security that was stealing guns, and got a sweetheart deal for leaving, Holder and his numerous scandals, the great obamacare lies, the pen and phone crap, the lies about employment, the loss of jobs, and I'm sure I've missed a couple of more. And now this. The VA once again, in another scandal. When will this travesty to the American people end? When we change the political direction, this administration has us heading in.
This whole debacle about the VA needs to be fixed, and it needs to be fixed right now. There needs to be accountability, and that transparency this clown in office bragged he would have. Our boys and girls, men and women, deserve better then they are getting now. They gave everything to us, and we need to return the favor to them.
